Recently I found an up-in-coming designer called Kid Super, Dillon Colm, he is a white man from New York who began selling T-shirts in his dorm room at NYU until he was told he could no longer do it because it went against school policy. He began forming relationships with local artists and began using different art forms for self expression including music, painting, and fashion design. He began using his clothes on his friends on their descents to stardom. With no classical experience in fashion he decided that he would show a collection to Paris Fashion week. After he applied, he was rejected. He applied again and was finally accepted. He put his rejection letter on the first piece on the runway. He had his friends and family as models and perform in the show. Super also had another show where he translated his paintings to outfits. Super is now the resident designer at Louis Vuitton now following Abloh’s death. Super is an example of how the sky is the limit.
