The color bridge was definitely one of my favorite projects. I enjoyed being able to incorporate pictures into my design. I went with a lights theme. I wanted to do artificial and natural lights. I decided that the bridge would have circles instead of rectangles. I wanted it to be like the viewer was going from different planets and galaxies.
Below is my first attempt

I removed the arrows because I thought it took away from the design. I added more shapes with different sizes to add depth. I liked how the bridge was formed without every single shape touching. I used the Gestalt effect, closure, to make the viewer close the bridge on their own. I liked how the viewer would have to jump to different planets. It reminded me of how in space some planets are easier to get to than others. Also, how planets can look really close but be lightyears away.
The color starts at green then goes to blue. Then the blue changes into pink. The pink changes into pinkish black. Then the pick becomes back a bluish color. Then it turns purple. I really like how the colors mixed nicely over the bridge and evolved.
My favorite part of the project was being able to chose my own images and being given the creative freedom to manipulate them.
The most challenging part was maintaining a gradient for the color bridge. I wanted my colors to look like they were changing from planet to planet and I was having a hard time making sure they did. Overall, I am happy with the results.
This project was one of my favorites because I feel like I had the most freedom to make my bridge out of anything that inspired me. I feel like space is the epitome of inspiration because there is so much undiscovered and so many endless possibilities.
